Subject: dpkg-dev: dpkg-source -x fails on good diffs

Package: dpkg-dev
Version: 1.4.0.8

Extracting the source of many common packages fails. Most often this
is due to a nested directory structure, but is also triggered by diffs
of files that don't end in a newline (lines starting with \).

This definitely affects jed_0.98.2-2 (nested dir structure). I can't
remember an example of the newline problem, but there have been at
least two.
