Does this mean you'll make a dpkg NMU soon? I'll set up a separate
packaging-manual package in the next days, and this requires an updated
dpkg package.
I'll take the following files:
from dpkg source package:
doc/changelog
doc/packaging.sgml
from dpkg binary package:
usr/doc/dpkg/packaging.html/*
from dpkg-dev binary package:
usr/doc/dpkg/changelog.manuals.gz
I'll make the new "packaging-manual" Conflict with older versions of dpkg
too avoid that users have the manual installed twice. I think the new dpkg
version should then Suggest the package "packaging-manual" to inform users
about the new package.
Please tell me if you could do these changes to dpkg. Note, that the
changes I have to make to the packaging-manual are urgent, since they
affect hamm. If you don't have time for this, I'll do a NMU of dpkg
myself.
Thanks,
Chris
