This isn't a dpkg bug, as dpkg-reconfigure isn't part of dpkg.
adam@kaa:~$ dpkg -S /usr/sbin/dpkg-reconfigure
debconf: /usr/sbin/dpkg-reconfigure
This was also fixed yesterday in debconf 1.4.44. Based on the above
output, you've already got a debconf package containing the fix
installed.
Reassigning this to debconf, closing and merging with the other reports.
