test of the release candidate
white: regarding release candidate.
**Installer**
i still cant get autopartkit to work. partman and manual works.
that means all my tests are done in debian-edu-expert mode.
the release candidate suffers from the grub issue.
http://bugs.skolelinux.no/show_bug.cgi?id=1116
a rebuild using the fixed grub (0.97-16?) should fix that.
other then that the installer worked and installed a system i could log
into.
**ltsp subsystem**
failed to create a /opt/ltsp/i386 since udhcpc lacked on the cd.
i have commited changes to the etch hintfile. sory that i forgot that
when i did it on etch-test.
/var/lib/tftpboot is empty, this results in no pxebooting clients. I
have commited changes to debian-edu-pxelinux.cfg (d-e-config) that
populates it correctly
**services**
ldap: slapd runs as expected and replies to libnss-ldap
dns: bind runs and resolves as expected.
dhcpd: works, but not for pxelinux booting. this is fixed in etch-test
daily builds
exim4: works and recives mail.
courier runs with our config. not tested since i have no ldap user.
apache works, and display the debian-edu install page, have not checked
it's contents.
squid: unconfigured-> no http/ftp access. workaround to uncomment the
proxies in /etc/enviorment.
squid's config file was larger then cfengines editfilesize,
workes with the changes i commited to d-e-config.
cups: admin page works, have not tested a printer.
nfs: works, gave non critical errors about subtree_check, committed
needed changes to avoid warning.
tftp: works, but /var/lib/tftpboot is empty see
samba: is running from our config. but i have not tested a windows client.
are there any other services i should test ??
**conclution**
looks to me like a etch-test from a few days back, lacks a few fixes i
have done already, and just got a few new ones tonight.
i tested a mainserver install, and a combined mainserver/ltsp-server
