That disadvantage doesn't really bother me. Sure have an app which tells you
things in a Windowing environment is nice, but decent logs and perl do just
fine for me.

e.g.: The current firewall we have has a X-Windows control interface. All it
means is I press a button to see the log file instead of typing 

# less <logfile>
