[Pkg-fonts-devel] Any reason for building FontForge without FreeType BCI?

I just noticed that FontForge is being built with
--with-freetype-bytecode=no (unless built for Ubuntu), is that
intentional or just a left over from when FreeType byte code
interpreter was disabled by default because of the patent issues?
