Bug#153816: gcc-3.1 doesn't provide cc
reassign 153816 gcc
merge153816 112887
thanks
gcc-3.1 doesn't use alternatives to make sure that the preferred
system compiler is used when calling 'gcc'. If you want to test
gcc-3.1 for a particular package,
- use CC=gcc-3.1 CXX=g++-3.1 when configuring/compiling a package
- make ~<user>/bin/gcc a symlink to gcc-3.1 and add it to your path
gcc-3.1/gcc-3.2 will become the default gcc soon.
