It has since been accepted, the source-only upload preceding it was
rejected.

That's very plausible. Mapnik needed beefier buildds too to
successfully build on arm*.

The buildd admins can limit packages to buildds with at least X amount
of RAM, so asking them to retry postgis on a beefier buildd seems like
a good idea.

For the new upload the build already failed on mipsel where it
succeeded before. On mips it's still building at this time.

True, and a good thing at that. I added a patch to at least make it
build on Hurd, but the tests still fail. Although it doesn't look like
the test failures are cause by the build.
