Yes, everyone I've gotten to try G2 says the lack of configurability
makes it horrible.  The reason to remove those options is very sane - to
make it easy for newbies.  The GNOME guys just don't seem to want to
accept tho that KDE is much more popular with newbies, and GNOME is the
power-user's desktop... Ah well.

It is stated that if certain options are requested enough, they'll be
added back.  So if there is something in particular, start b***hing
about it on the GNOME Bugzilla. ~,^

Also, every few updates I notice more options being put in as the
preference dialogs for them are designed.
