I have heard (3rd hand) that ACL (access control lists) are directly
supported by EXT2 (although user programs are still in development).

If this is the case, I think it should really should be supported by the
file-system process.

If I am wrong, and EXT2 doesn't support ACLs, then replace EXT2 with
EXT3.
