The Hurd right now is pretty unstable, for example it occasionally crashes
and reboots when certain commands are run. There will be some time before
the bugs are fixed and it becomes stable. However it is pretty
linux-compatible so we can soon expect to leverage the existing linux
efforts in appliactions, GUI etc.

I (am starting to) put my efforts into the Hurd because I believe that its
basic operating system architecture is superior to existing Unix or
Windows architectures.
