Well, you are misunderstanding our situation just a bit. We don't go any
particular route currently, because nobody is really working on it.

I don't know if the Hurd developers would support KGI as part of the Hurd
(they haven't commented yet), but this is not very important, because the
design of the Hurd allows concurrent models to exist. ;)

The changes necessary to gnumach should be very small in particular.

So, the question is not which route the Hurd development goes (I can imagine
that the Hurd itself will stay with a very simple term translator), but who
is going to do all the work. I am quite certain that everyone around here
would support active development in this area.

It seems to be quite certain that neither the native Mach console nor the
yet-to-come Linux console port to Mach have a long life expectancy.
