Debian GNU/kFreeBSD uses a kernel that is very stable and has been used
in production environments for ages. The only really experimental part
about it is their glibc port. So it's no wonder they have less trouble
getting it into a state where people consider it useful...

"Generally" is not true. *Sometimes* patches are ignored; but most of
the time, maintainers do apply them.
