secondo me il problema è la versione di Chromium e Firefox che stai usando.
Se hai Jessie stai usando delle versioni troppo vecchie dei browser,
come indicato qui:

Dovresti vedere se riesci a installare una versione recente.
In alternativo prova a vedere se hai jami, probabilmente in Jessie si
chiamava ring o gnome-ring. È un applicativo desktop
