I just noticed that glTron (/usr/games/gltron, package gltron) causes the same problem. The game itself was running fine, the problem occured just after ending it. Also, applications already running (e.g. Midnight Commander, Iceweasel) continue to work as usual. Only newly started applications or commands seem to fail.
