I suspect the signal is weak.  Does this always happen within a few
minutes of connecting?  Does the signal strength matter?  If you have
other wireless hardware to try, do they produce the same problem?
Do current kernels behave the same way?  Does downgrading the kernel
to a version that worked before make it go away?
