Bug#762870: initramfs-tools: fails to boot after upgrade from 0.116 to 0.117

Do you have a separate /usr partition? If so, is it a normal
partition or used on top of LVM/RAID/...?

Can you please execute:

  bash -x mkinitramfs -o /dev/null >/tmp/trace.log 2>&1

and provide us the resulting /tmp/trace.log file?
