Package: linux-image-4.3-0.dmz.1-liquorix-amd64 Version: linux-image-4.3-3.dmz.3-liquorix-amd64 Severity: critical Justification: breaks unrelated software Dear Maintainer, *** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate *** * What led up to the situation? * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? * What was the outcome of this action? * What outcome did you expect instead? *** End of the template - remove these template lines *** The driver for the Realtek Semiconductor Corp. RTL8191SU 802.11n WLAN Adapter worked perfectly in the past but starting with linux-image-4.3-0 and all more recent versions of the kernel the wifi adapter has completely stopped working . The problem exists not only with the liquorix kernel but also with the ordinary amd64 kernel for the 4.3 versions. There is no problem with the 4.2-5 kernel and so I must use that version until this bug is fixed. -- System Information: Debian Release: stretch/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (650, 'testing'), (600, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing-proposed- updates') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 4.2-5.dmz.1-liquorix-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: sysvinit (via /sbin/init) I have attached 2 file: wireless-info-4.2-5.txt: this shows the configuration for the Wifi driver for the 4.2.5-0 kernel wireless-info-4.3-3 for a kernel where the driver does not work.
