Package: linux-image-4.8.0-2-amd64
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

After dist-upgrade to linux-image-4.8.0-2-amd64 I experienced
frequent freezes when running games or mpv. On the order of one
every 10 minutes. Since both heavily used my graphics card I
suspected this was due to the nvidia-driver update I installed
but purging everything related to it and reverting to nouveau
didn't solve the issue.

Reverting my kernel to linux-image-4.8.0-1-amd64 fixed the issue.
I suspect it's related to either the graphics or the audio, as
normal web browsing didn't trigger any freezes at all.

The freezes in question would instantly freeze the screen and halt
audio output, and after a few seconds my keyboard would lose power.

There was nothing in the systemd journal to indicate what happened.

After that rebooting was all that was left.
