Package: src:linux Version: 4.9.18-1 Severity: normal Tags: newcomer Dear Maintainer, Kernel 4.9 has support for Intel Omni-Path hardware in the hfi1 kernel module. This module is not currently delivered in linux-image-4.9.0-2-amd64. Building this module requires setting the configuration option CONFIG_INFINIBAND_HFI1 when building the kernel. This module does require non-free firmware in order to load. This requirement will be addressed in a separate bug filed against firmware-misc-nonfree. Once resolved, the following file should be present after installation of linux-image-4.9.0-2-amd64: /lib/modules/4.9.0-2-amd64/kernel/drivers/infiniband/hw/hfi1/hfi1.ko modinfo hfi1 should report information for the kernel module. I am an employee of System Fabric Works and SFW has the hardware and resources to test the resolution of this issue. Thanks. -- Package-specific info: ** Version: Linux version 4.9.0-2-amd64 (debian-kernel@lists.debian.org) (gcc version 6.3.0 20170321 (Debian 6.3.0-11) ) #1 SMP Debian 4.9.18-1 (2017-03-30) ** Command line: BOOT_IMAGE=net1:/opa3-stretch/uefi/vmlinuz root=/dev/nfs initrd=initramfs.img ip=dhcp rw nfsroot=192.168.3.10:/srv/nfsroot/opa3-stretch,rw intel_pstate=disable intel_iommu=off ro ** Not tainted ** Kernel log: [ 295.698033] igb 0000:03:00.3: DCA enabled [ 295.698202] ioatdma 0000:00:04.1: enabling device (0004 -> 0006) [ 295.705480] power_meter ACPI000D:00: Found ACPI power meter.
