Dear
Maintainer,
When
the kernel is booted with the nosmt option, the first time MCE
triggers results to a tainted kernel.
It
looks like the first time the MCE is scheduled all CPUs are
still online but when the check is run,
the
secondary CPUs have gone offline.
There
is a patch that looks like it solves this (https://lore.kernel.org/patchwork/patch/756222/)
which is applied in version 4.10.
It
would be nice if this could be applied in 4.9 to avoid such
taints.
