D'accord. It also limits the amount external support and possible project
management and is generally A Bad Thing (TM). Last but not least it has
a major impact on the name owner's privacy, but let's hope that they
know what there're doing.

You are joking, but there has been a very serious lawsuit in Germany
about that very issue (there is a quite popular website about Linux on
laptops called "mobilix"). See

for details (unfortunately only in german). The lawsuit was won in the
first instance, but is still pending in the second.
