The configuration file naming scheme has changed in LXDE recently, but
startlxde still copied a wrong template over the original files. I
changed this in 6.4.4, though, so the preferences should not get
overwritten anymore. I wonder why this still happens.

I would say, another LXDE bug. :-/

6.4.4 uses the newer xorg drivers from Debian experimental (now in
unstable), which seem to handle those card types quite well. :-)
