On the Z505S, which only has USB floppy (and I don't have a CD), the trick I
used to install was to use the single-floppy RedHat 5.2 (or was it 6.0?)
network install floppy to boot, partition and install RH into the future swap
partition, then use that to download the tar.gz Debian image (still into the
future swap partition) and install Slink from the tecra floppy image. I
don't know if potato install floppies would work at all on such machines
because it requires rescue and root floppies just to boot...

Yeah- I stuck the following script into /etc/apm/resume.d:
/etc/init.d/networking stop
ifconfig eth0 down
rmmod eepro100
modprobe eepro100
/etc/init.d/networking start
and it restarts automatically every time now. Also put in a
"/etc/init.d/hwclock start" so it gets that right (though GNOME calendar
alarms are sometimes a bit off even so).
