RE: Configuring Mouse in X

I also had a great deal of trouble configuring my Toshiba nubbin mouse. It
is a ps/2, and I had to screw with the settings using XF86Setup until it
worked.

On my thinkpad, and I assume many laptops, the touchpad (well, it's not a
touchpad on thinkpad) is ps/2 mouse. When an external mouse is plugged into
ps/2 port, it replaces the touchpad.

If you still have trouble, disable gpm (/etc/init.d/gmp stop) before
starting X.
