Re: turning off the LCD screen.



look for xset. this helps , as the name suggests, only if you are
running X. 
i ve got somrthing like 
xset +dpms dpms 0 0 300
in my .xinitrc file. be careful, switching on and off the backlight
can reduce the lifetime.
