Bug#431946: lintian: maintainer-script-removes-device-files creates false positives
Package: lintian
Version: 1.23.32
Severity: normal
Hi!
The maintainer-script-removes-device-files is too narrow minded. ;) It
creates false positives for constructs like:
$ lintian abook_0.5.6-4_powerpc.changes
E: abook: maintainer-script-removes-device-files postinst:45
E: abook: maintainer-script-removes-device-files postrm:18
E: abook: maintainer-script-removes-device-files postrm:19
$ head -19 abook-0.5.6/debian/postrm | tail -2
rm /etc/Muttrc.d/abook.rc.removed 2> /dev/null || true
rm /etc/Muttrc.d/abook.rc 2> /dev/null || true
Please make the check less intrusive, I'm not removing any device files
and I don't think writing overrides files for this cases should be
needed.
So long, and thanks.
Rhonda
