Package: lintian
Version: 2.5.38
Severity: wishlist

Dear Maintainer,

Please consider adding more extensive documentation for the
--display-level option and other options that take similar arguments.

For instance:

[+|-|=][>=|>|<|<=][S|C|S/C]

How does the first set of symbols differ from the second set? What is
the difference between +, -, and = in the first set?

There are times when the first symbol is omitted. What does that mean?

The --default-display-level option says that it behaves exactly like
passing:

-L ">=important" -L "+>=normal/possible" -L "+minor/certain"

What does it mean to pass three incantations of -L to lintian? Under
what circumstances would/should you do this?

Thanks for improving lintian's documentation!

Cheers,

-m
