ftp.d.o is out of date so you should specify some alternate mirror. I
think you should make sure you're using the latest sid versions of
live-helper.
Also casper is deprecated in Debian in favour of live-initramfs:

You should also make sure that the live-initramfs that make-live
retrieves is from sid.
