RE: login to live debian



As you said, it is better to start X without display manager.
Using bash script, in chroot local hooks you can do that.

yes i´m pretty sure xdm does not support autologin. but it would be nice to get a light weight display manager to do autologin, gdm is fairly heavy. i´ve attempted with slim, but have not figured out yet how to do autologin with slim. its fairly straight forward to remove the display manager completely and autologin start X directly.
