Are those systray applets xembed based or appindicator based. If the latter, make sure you have no other SNI provider running. Esp. make sure there is no process named indicator-applicaton running. However, make sure that you have ayatana-indicator-application running.

Reporting this issue via BTS is ok, as it probably also affects testing.
