Bug#1050716: mate-desktop-environment: MATE fails to pass the correct default application to other apps

Package: mate-desktop-environment
Version: 1.26.0+1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

I have selected dolphin as my prefered file manager, but that value is not
passed to applications such as browsers or other appliations which will "load a
folder" upon a click.

This is what the settings show:
$ xdg-mime query default inode/directory
org.kde.dolphin.desktop

But regardless of the browser as an example, if I display the download page and
click on 'show in folder,' caja opens.

This simply should not be. And this has be going on for a while. It may have
existed in bullseye, but it is clearly happening in bookworm.
