Um.. adduser just calls useradd (and/or groupadd, usermod, chfn, passwd,
edquota, and maybe /usr/local/sbin/adduser.local). Most of those are
programs from the passwd package.
I don't know what needs to happen to get the nscd and passwd packages to
interoperate. Someone (me, I suppose) could spend some hours studying it,
or the experts (presumably the package maintainers for passwd, nscd and
maybe nis and pam packages) could just fix it...
