Oh, I forgot about gpm. Now it's clear.
But after upgrading ncurses related packages, still I see
this lintian error. gpm is 1.14-3.

Yes, I have a environment variable "ARCH".
Some programs require this, such as 'ptolemy'.
I think this is a very rare case though.
