You will not believe what the problem was. It was hardcoded in a config file under ~/gnujump. This file was initially created after I had built it using the traditional upstream tools and didn't change the prefix.
I figured this out after I installed the official gnujump from repos and it had the same issue.
So after removing ~/gnujump/ the problem went away. Thank for the help. -- theo
