CONFIG_COBALT_LCD is turned on but doesn't that use a different
interface these days?  AFAIK /dev/lcd doesn't work with modern
kernels.

That will work, but I believe Christian wants to set the LEDs rather
than change the LCD.  Yoichi implemented a new LED interface for
2.6.23 or 2.6.24 but I'm not sure how it works exactly.
