This seems to be still relevant: I have no vo= defined in
/etc/mplayer/mplayer.conf and the gui creates ~/.mplayer/gui.conf with
vo_driver=vdpau and in my case fails to play with
[vdpau] Error when calling vdp_device_create_x11: 1
Error opening/initializing the selected video_out (-vo) device.
Failed to open VDPAU backend libvdpau_va_gl.so: cannot open shared
object file: No such file or directory
if I change to
vo_driver=vdpau,xv
it plays the video with no errors.
Ingo, is it possible to patch the gui so that the default value is
changed to xv or to a list that includes xv?
Thanks,
Lorenzo
