Marco Trevisan: Advocate

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA512

tl;dr Marco is ready to become a DM right now, and if accepted I'll be granting
him upload access to pkg-gnome's packages.

I've been working with Marco for several years now, in the Ubuntu/Canonical
desktop teams, upstream at GNOME, and latterly in Debian in the pkg-gnome (and
related) team(s). GNOME releases on a six month cycle and we try to package at
least some of the pre-releases as well as the final release and then the
follow-up bugfix updates. This is a lot of work, and Marco is very diligent at
handling his part of this.

Basically, I'm tired of sponsoring his work now. When I review it, I don't
often find things that I want to change - apart from Italenglishisms - which to
me is a sign that this person shouldn't be needing to be sponsored.

I trust that Marco will ask me or other members of the team when there's
something that he needs input on.

The following is an underestimate because we have often worked on packages
together and sometimes my name will have been in Changed-By.

A recent example of good work is the mozjs68 update - this is a complex
package, not least because upstream doesn't provide proper orig tarballs.
Marco worked out a nice way to strip the files from Firefox ESR in order to
turn it into mozjs (this will become a git-buildpackage / uscan feature
request, with patch, which we started to work on already), refreshed all of the
patches, wrote new ones where needed (forwarding upstream), and updated the
rest of the packaging as was necessary.
