You're right, but anyway the packages that need the versioned libraries dependencies are a strict subset of the packages that need rebuild due to ocaml standard library location change. So my proposal is that you upload a new version of the ocaml package (shipping the old ocaml policy, but this is not a problem) then I will rebuild packages which have the versioned dependency problem just to try that it works. Then, if all works as I suppose, you (all) can start rebuilding stuff that need the "new" trick. Obviously packages that don't need this .cmi dependency hell (mainly all non-library packages and all library packages which don't depend on other ocaml libraries) can be rebuilt as soon as the new ocaml package enters the archive.
