IMO, it doesn't depend on the type of the interface (text vs. garphical).
Both can display this kind of information. 'scp', for example, is good
example of a text-based interface showing bandwidth information, while
being useful and clear.

If unison fails to show this kind of information, then there's a room for
improvement.
