Bug#1052294: RM: otags -- RoQA; based on ancient OCaml version; dead upstream; low popcon

Package: ftp.debian.org
Severity: normal
User: ftp.debian.org@packages.debian.org
Usertags: remove
X-Debbugs-Cc: otags@packages.debian.org
Control: affects -1 + src:otags

Dear FTP Team,

The last upstream release of otags dates back to 2017 and OCaml 4.05.0
(which is the version from oldoldstable). Even though I "ported" it to
more recent OCaml versions thanks to ocaml-migrate-parsetree, new
syntax introduced since then is not supported to the point that I
wonder if it makes sense to port it to 4.14.1, whose transition is
being prepared.

Besides, ocaml-merlin is a better replacement (although not drop-in).

I think it's time to remove otags from Debian.

Cheers,
