Open office starts, but there is no display
I cannot get OOo (1.0-6) to start and run when working from a menu (I'm using
KDE 2.2). It will start from the command line, but there is no
display whatever, and it does not appear on the KDE panel.
I ran it under strace, and offer the following output from the tail of
the file, to the point where I terminated strace:
11:02:34 fstat64(11, {st_mode=S_IFREG|0775, st_size=196, ...}) = 0

I do not know what to make of this.
I tried to run it from a root console, and it went through setup, and
I got the display all right.
Does any one have an idea?
TIA
