Why -common when you think about impress' export?

Because I assumed that openoffice would use the same
code to do exports from all the applications.

Version: 2.0.4.dfsg.2-7
Severity: normal

Aeh, no. This is wishlist, if at all.

Fair enough.

If you make an OO Impress document that contains an
image with a superposed text box,
then export it either to PDF or to HTML,
the resulting document does not contain the text

So what? YOu get a export of a *graphic*. For PDF using a text there
might be feasbile, but not for HTML.

In fact, it's quite feasible to produce HTML that
makes text overlaid onto images.
See http://www.yourhtmlsource.com/stylesheets/csslayout.html .
It's been implemented since about 2002, and all modern
browsers support those techniques.

Problems: The document will not be indexed by Google
because there is no text for them to find.

I don't think that's an argument.

It is, if you want someone to find your document.

If you'd have used sid for reporting the bug you'd have been shown a
note to *not* report such bugs which are upstream bugs or wishes for
features upstream but file them directly upstream. Or at least file an
issue and tell me the issue nr so I can mark the issue as forwarded
directly.

But, I *don't* use sid.

Please file an issue upsream for this.

I saved it in Powerpoint format. My problem's solved.
