Bug#908523: libcppunit-dev: cppunit.m4 is no more provided

Package: libcppunit-dev
Version: 1.14.0-3
Severity: important

Hello,

The file /usr/share/aclocal/cppunit.m4 is not (no more) provided by this
package.

From /usr/share/doc/libcppunit-dev/changelog.gz I found:

2016-10-15 Markus Mohrhard <markus.mohrhard@googlemail.com> [fcc84eec40acf8506f2a5fcc3fe0399663d1ce18]

    cppunit.m4 is gone

But /usr/share/doc/libcppunit-dev/README.Debian contains a documentation
of the M4 macro AM_PATH_CPPUNIT()

Another strange thing is that /usr/share/aclocal/cppunit.m4 is listed as
provided by libcppunit-dev from unstable by https://packages.debian.org/search?searchon=contents&keywords=cppunit.m4&mode=filename&suite=unstable&arch=any

The version 1.13.2-2.1 from stable provides the cppunit.m4
I guess the file disappeared with version 1.14.

I could not find a replacement for cppunit.m4 in https://www.gnu.org/software/autoconf-archive/The-Macros.html#The-Macros

If upstream decided to remove cppunit.m4, which looks to be the case,
then maybe you should remove the file
/usr/share/doc/libcppunit-dev/README.Debian

I also note that cppunit-config was also removed. Using cppunit.m4 from the Debian stable does not work without cppunit-config.

I suggest to:
- remove README.Debian or, at least, change its content.
- add a line in changelog that cppunit-config and cppunit.m4 have been removed upstream and are no more provided

Regards,
