Probably an update of libreoffice and its components.

Probably?

The last update of "libreoffice and its components" was for 12.1 in July.

Actually I didn't use Libreoffice Draw for months, so I don't know when this bug appeared. I used Libreoffce Writer and it behaved normally.

If it appeared recently I'd guess some library update... Maybe in 12.2?

  I wanted to prepare a
single picture for a presentation with Libreoffice Draw and realized that
changes of text color stopped working.
Works here. Both in my normal system and in a clean stable VM.
Also filled areas of e.g. circles did
not show the chosen color. Instead all fillings appeared white, colored text
remained black.

Dito.

Also I realized that input
becomes extremely slow, with libreoffice-gtk3 installed. The fan of my cpu
speeds up and letters appear with a long delay while typing in.
That suggests some graphics driver issue? Did something get updated with that?

I've got a Radeon Lexa Pro RX550. Package firmware-amd-graphics 20210315-3 is installed. Driver in use is amdgpu.

Best wishes,

Kerstin

    * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
      ineffective)?

I purged libreoffice with "apt purge libreoffice*" from the system and
reinstalled it. Thereafter the problem was gone, but the windows and menus had
tiny hardly readable text and low contrast due to a gray background.

Well, yes, that's how LO looks without Gtk3 integration.

Rene
