Debian/Linux not recognizing Handspring Visor

Hello all,

I am trying to sync my Handspring Visor to gnome-pilot (Evolution fills
my needs for a mailer/PIM/calendar) Its not working, the USB is okay.
I think I have pretty much included all of the diagnostic stuff. I've
been working on this for quite a while.

If you could figure out whats going on, I'd be greatly appreciative.

Thanks,
Don Napier

Specs:
Visor Deluxe 8M with Cradle (old one)
Debian Unstable, with hotplug
Tyan Tsunami, 300Mhz Celeron
128M Ram, NVidia Vid card

I pretty much followed the Handspring HOWTO to the tee.

I created the /dev values by using this command (16 times)

mknod /dev/ttyUSBX c 188 X
