New policy draft available at http://master.debian.org/%7Esrivasta/policy/
Hi,
Since it has been a long while since the last policy upgrade,
I;ve decided to let people preview this version before moving it to
incoming.
A) Is the version 4.0.0.0 premature? People mentioned that 3.5.0.0
would have been enough of a jump.
B) Is the symlink ordering issue going to be a problem for upgrades
(since the suer may have an older dpkg version, and a p[ackage
following the new 4.x policy may fail. If this is the case, the
proposal really should be rejected, until an upgrade path is
proposed.
