This is why many of the configuration scripts we have now are not really in
the postinst, but are sperate scripts (smailconfig, liloconfig,
apacheconfig) that are called by the postinst.

There's nothing stopping such scripts from being used in the new system -
they would just have to launch the frontend if it wasn't already running.
