You indicated that in one mail message I argued that all
packages can have the postinst changed in a jiffy, and, in another,
on the same day, I argued that a change to packages may take as much
as 18 months. The only explanation for such an inconsistency is
a) Stupidity, or incipient senility
b) delibrate demagoguery, or chicanery
I did find it a tad irritating, but I am well over it now. Pay
it no mind.

Prevalent beliefs that knowledge can be tapped from previous
incarnations or from a "universal mind" (the repository of all past
wisdom and creativity) not only are implausible but also unfairly
demean the stunning achievements of individual human brains. Barry
