Sadly, there's no ready reference for all the various interfaces
which have evolved to extract information out of the packaging
system.  However, the following works, at least for now:

perl -n00e 'print if m(/etc/profile)' /var/lib/dpkg/status

[replace /etc/profile with whatever config file you're looking for.]

[the 00 is a double zero, not two capital letter "O"s.]
